Visit Chimo, Mexico
Chimo is a tiny yet tropical beach town located 30 minutes South of Yelapa by water taxi. You can take the water taxi at the pier in Boca de Tomatlan at 9am and return at 5pm for $180MXN each direction. Because of the ocean in Chimo, a small canoe taxi picks you up off of the water taxi and escorts you to the beach for a tip of $20MXN.
There isnβt much to do in Chimo besides eat at Sunset restaurant and enjoy the private beaches, but itβs an adorable place to enjoy a bottle of tequila and relax in a quiet beach town without many tourists.

Exploring Cabo Corrientes, Mexico
In this video we explored the backroads & lesser known beaches of Cabo Corrientes, 2.5 hours south of PV. There is no bus or public road transportation to these places so we took our car, though you can take a panga from the pier in Boca de Tomatlan as far as the bay of Corrales.
We saw the aftermath of tropical storm Narda (Sept 2019) & how it effected the local people, got to visit the purple mountains, had lunch in the bay of Corrales & stayed at El Cielito cabins on playa Villa del Mar.
The local people said the best way to help them after the storm is to encourage visitors to explore the area.

Where is Cabo Corrientes?
Cabo Corrientes is the county just South of Puerto Vallarta that follows the ocean until you reach Boca de Tomatlan, then the road continues up the mountain through El Tuito before reaching the soon-to-be-famous Mayto & Tehuamixtle.
Driving through Cabo Corrientes is beautiful because of the vastly changing scenery; youβll find lush jungles, pine forests, lavender fields, purple mountains littered with bougainvilleaβs and rough, open ocean bordered by white sandy beaches.
